A Fallen Hero's Grave - The idea for this piece is that this womans love was lost to the torrents of war in the holy land fighting for God, king, and country. A landless knight seeking his fortune, seeking title and lands to bring home to his beloved, to give her the future he dreamt they should have together. Alas, it was not to be. His funds spent to outfit him for the crusade, spent on provisions, armor, and steed, no money was left for a burial proper. Beneath the aged oak his beloved laid him to rest with naught but a pauper's stone and in her grief worked some unknown magic to lodge his sword into the boulder near his grave. Now, instead of he over her, she holds vigil over his place of rest, holding the banner of his crest, woven with her own nimble fingers.
